logarithmicBins() function

logarithmicBins() generates a list of exponentially separated float values.

Use linearBins() to generate bin bounds for histogram().

Function type signature
(count: int, factor: float, start: float, ?infinity: bool) => [float]

For more information, see Function type signatures.

Parameters

start

(Required) First value to return in the list.

factor

(Required) Multiplier to apply to subsequent values.

count

(Required) Number of values to return.

infinity

Include an infinite value at the end of the list. Default is true.

Examples

Generate a list of exponentially increasing values

logarithmicBins(
    start: 1.0,
    factor: 2.0,
    count: 10,
    infinity: true,
)// Returns [1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, +Inf]

The future of Flux

Flux is going into maintenance mode. You can continue using it as you currently are without any changes to your code.

Flux is going into maintenance mode and will not be supported in InfluxDB 3.0. This was a decision based on the broad demand for SQL and the continued growth and adoption of InfluxQL. We are continuing to support Flux for users in 1.x and 2.x so you can continue using it with no changes to your code. If you are interested in transitioning to InfluxDB 3.0 and want to future-proof your code, we suggest using InfluxQL.
