# strings.trimSpace() function

`strings.trimSpace()` removes leading and trailing spaces from a string.

##### Function type signature

```js
(v: string) => string
```

## Parameters

### v

(Required) String to remove spaces from.

## Examples

### Trim leading and trailing spaces from all values in a column

```js
import "strings"

data
    |> map(fn: (r) => ({r with _value: strings.trimSpace(v: r._value)}))
```
