experimental.mode() function

experimental.mode() is subject to change at any time.

experimental.mode() computes the mode or value that occurs most often in the _value column in each input table.

experimental.mode only considers non-null values. If there are multiple modes, it returns all modes in a sorted table. If there is no mode, it returns null.

Supported types

  • string
  • float
  • int
  • uint
  • bool
  • time

(<-tables: stream[{A with _value: B}]) => stream[{A with _value: B}]

Parameters

tables

Input data. Default is piped-forward data (<-).

Examples

Compute the mode of input tables

import "experimental"
import "sampledata"

sampledata.int()
    |> experimental.mode()
